MH Equipment acquired Bohl Equipment, adding three forklift dealerships in Ohio and Indiana and expanding its material handling network to more than 30 branches.
The agreement, effective Oct. 1, adds Bohl locations in Fort Wayne, Ind., and Toledo and Marion, Ohio to the MH Equipment dealer network, according to an Oct. 12 company release. The companies did not disclose financial terms of the acquisition.
Both companies are authorized dealers of Hyster-Yale equipment. MH Equipment said the combination adds Bohl’s workforce, including more than 50 service technicians, while expanding equipment inventory and regional service capabilities.
Bohl Equipment co-owner Doug Bohl said the company sought a partner that could provide long-term stability, additional resources and opportunities for employees as the material handling industry evolves. He cited Bohl’s longstanding relationship with MH Equipment and confidence in its leadership as factors in the decision.
Founded in 1924, Bohl Equipment provides new and used material handling equipment, rentals, parts and maintenance services, according to the release. MH Equipment employs more than 1,100 people across 10 states in the Midwest and East, the release stated.
MH Equipment said existing customer operations, scheduled service and sales relationships will continue without interruption.
Bohl Crane, which operates independently of Bohl Equipment, is not included in the transaction, according to the release.
