American Equipment Solutions acquired BC Wire Rope & Rigging, adding six locations across California, Arizona and Nevada and expanding its lifting and rigging capabilities throughout the Western United States.

Anaheim, Calif.-based BC Wire Rope provides wire rope, slings, chain, hoists and rigging equipment, supported by in-house assembly and testing capabilities and same-day jobsite delivery, according to a release. Founded in 1974, the company serves the Western U.S.

The acquisition combines BC Wire Rope’s rigging and below-the-hook capabilities with American Equipment’s overhead crane installation, inspection, service and modernization operations. In fact, the combination gives customers access to lifting equipment and services across the equipment life cycle through one provider.

The transaction supports Salt Lake City-based American Equipment’s strategy to expand its national footprint and broaden its portfolio of overhead lifting solutions and services, Chief Executive Tom Hoyer said in the release.

American Equipment also provides OSHA-mandated inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, engineering, fabrication, equipment, automation, modernization and training. The company serves thousands of customers nationwide across industrial, automotive, mining, utilities, military, aerospace, defense and energy markets.

American Equipment is a portfolio company of Rotunda Capital Partners, a private equity firm focused on distribution, logistics and industrial and business services.

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
