Commercial vehicle manufacturer Traton Group has partnered with Mountain View, Calif.-based software company Applied Intuition to accelerate its development of software-defined vehicles (SDVs).
The collaboration will bring Applied Intuition’s AI-powered vehicle software platforms to all Traton brands, including Scania, MAN, International and Volkswagen Truck and Bus, Traton announced in a release today.
By integrating Applied’s technology, Traton aims to enhance its in-house software capabilities and advance the industry’s shift toward SDVs. The partnership will also introduce a unified software platform, a developer toolchain and cloud-based virtual testing across Traton’s brands.
“The Traton Group’s products are increasingly driven by software,” Board Member Niklas Klingenberg, who is responsible for research and development initiatives, stated in the release. “We have always had strong software competencies in-house, but it’s important for us to work with a capable software partner to complement our capabilities.
