Commercial vehicle manufacturer The TRATON GROUP reported a stable sales performance in 2024 despite difficult market conditions.
The company sold 334,200 vehicles last year across its four brands — Scania, MAN Truck and Bus, International and Volkswagen Truck and Bus — marking a 1% decline from 2023, according to a Jan. 14 release.
Scania’s sales rose 6% in 2024 to 102,100 vehicles, driven by strong demand in South America. MAN Truck and Bus, meanwhile, reported an 18% decline to 95,7000 units, which was attributed to a weak European market, regulatory challenges and a mid-year model change.
Despite a declining North American truck market, International’s sales increased 2% to 90,600, supported by strong medium-duty truck demand and the success of its S13 powertrain model, according to the release. Volkswagen Truck and Bus saw a 23% jump with 45,800 vehicles sold last year, bolstered by Brazil’s positive economic conditions and strong demand for both trucks and buses.
The Traton Group‘s full 2024 financial results will be detailed in its annual report, scheduled for release on March 10.
