Chinese heavy-equipment manufacturer XCMG Group and German vehicle technology provider ZF Friedrichshafen AG have formed a joint venture to develop advanced transmission technologies for agriculture machinery in China.
The venture, called ZF Machinery, will focus on producing powershift transmission systems for tractors and other agriculture equipment, while developing components and integrated solutions tailored to the Chinese market, according to an XCMG release today.
“China’s agricultural machinery sector is shifting toward larger, more advanced and more intelligent equipment, while powershift transmission technology for tractors and other agricultural equipment is entering a critical growth phase,” XCMG Group Chairman Yang Dongsheng stated in the release. “Together with ZF, we aim to develop globally competitive solutions for the high-end agricultural machinery market and strengthen China’s domestic agricultural equipment industry.”
