Samsara grew its pre-delivery installation program through a new partnership with International Motors, putting factory-installed telematics on new trucks and buses to improve fleet efficiency and reduce downtime.
International will install Samsara devices — including gateways, dash cams and AI-powered camera systems — at its manufacturing and modification facilities, so vehicles arrive fully connected and tech-ready, according to an April 9 Samsara release. Software subscriptions start when units are shipped, so customers only pay once.
The integration eliminates weeks of installation time after delivery. It also improves procurement and setup by allowing International to order and install Samsara hardware directly for customers and standardizing the installation process across locations.
Fleets including Estes and First Student already operate more than 200,000 International trucks and IC buses with Samsara technology, according to the release.
Samsara started the program less than a year ago.
