Autonomous trucking software provider PlusAI and commercial vehicle OEM Traton Group have expanded their partnership to accelerate the development and deployment of self-driving trucks in the United States and Europe.
Traton plans to spend up to $25 million on non-dilutive research and development to support factory integration of PlusAI’s self-driving SuperDrive software across Traton brands, including Scania, MAN and International, according to a PlusAI release today.
The announcement comes as PlusAI moves toward a public listing through its merger with Churchill Capital Corp IX.
As part of the PlusAI deal, Traton is expected to nominate a representative to PlusAI’s board of directors and may receive warrants tied to early deployment revenue milestones, aligning incentives around commercialization. The partnership builds on a collaboration that started in 2024.
Traton subsidiary International has begun autonomous-trucking trials in Texas along Interstate 35 with a major logistics operator, marking a step toward scaled commercial use.
