2Quip Corp., an AI-powered equipment rental and SaaS platform, is strengthening its equipment rental market position through the acquisition of Rentz Corp, owner of rentmyequipment.com, and the announcement of a $2 million seed funding round.

With the addition of Rentz Corp., Kansas City, Mo.-based 2Quip plans to expand its user base and enhance its enterprise software offerings, according to a May 15 2Quip release. The combined platform now serves 23,000 users and manages over 8,500 equipment listings valued at over $30 million, according to the release. 2Quip’s proprietary platform, 2quip.ai, uses its large language model “Alex” to offer features such as instant listing generation, real-time support, competitive pricing analysis, and upcoming AI-powered maintenance tools, and with these capabilities aim to reduce operating costs by 15% and drive an additional 2% to 5% in renter demand.

The acquisition aligns with 2Quip’s 2025 growth strategy to scale to 35,000 users and expand internationally, according to the release. Through new partnerships and increased marketplace capabilities, the company is advancing its mission of creating a smarter, more accessible, and profitable rental experience.
