HFI Rentals has launched a construction equipment rental business serving the Houston area, bringing a new fleet of machinery to the market.
The company is led by owner and Chief Executive Officer Jason Herin and Chief Operating Officer Trent Ledkins, according to an Oct. 15 company release. Its initial rental fleet includes aerial work platforms, scissor lifts, telehandlers, skid steers and mini excavators for commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects.
Herin is also the founder and owner of Houston-based family office Herin Family Investments, which identifies him as the former sole owner of CBS Rentals.
Herc Holdings acquired substantially all of CBS Rentals’ assets in August 2021 for about $190.3 million, according to Herc’s 2021 annual filing with the SEC. At the time, CBS operated 14 locations across three states and employed approximately 190 people.
HFI Rentals intends to leverage its leadership team’s previous rental experience to establish long-term customer relationships, Herin stated in the release. Ledkins said the business will prioritize responsive service and equipment reliability.
