Trimble announced that SMS Equipment will be its first Trimble Technology Outlet globally, allowing the Canadian dealer to sell the technology company’s grade control and site positioning systems for Komatsu, BOMAG and Takeuchi equipment.

As part of Westminster, Colo.-based Trimble’s expanding civil construction distribution strategy, SMS Equipment will offer customers in Canada and Alaska easier access to Trimble’s add-ons for dozers, excavators, compactors and compact machines, according to a March 10 Trimble press release.

With more than 40 locations, SMS Equipment aims to enhance jobsite productivity and efficiency by integrating Trimble’s advanced technology.

Ron Bisio, senior vice president of field systems at Trimble, said SMS Equipment’s reach and commitment to excellence make it an ideal partner to deliver equipment to contractors in Western Canada, according to the release. Mike Brown, executive vice president of technology and innovation at SMS Equipment, said the partnership strengthens the company’s role as a trusted technology provider, improving service and reducing implementation timelines for customers.

Trimble’s grade control systems enhance accuracy, safety and efficiency by optimizing equipment usage, reducing wear and fuel consumption, according to the release. The company’s add-ons for Komatsu, BOMAG and Takeuchi machines are now available through SMS Equipment locations in western Canada.

The third annual Equipment Finance Connect at the JW Marriott Nashville on May 14-15, 2025, is the only event for both equipment dealers and finance providers. Learn more and register here.
