2Quip Corp., an AI-powered equipment rental and SaaS platform, is strengthening its equipment rental market position through the acquisition of Rentz Corp, owner of rentmyequipment.com, and the announcement of a $2 million seed funding round.
With the addition of Rentz Corp., Kansas City, Mo.-based 2Quip plans to expand its user base and enhance its enterprise software offerings, according to a May 15 2Quip release. The acquisition also supports the company’s goal to modernize the $56 billion equipment rental industry by integrating Rentz’s peer-to-peer platform and community with 2Quip’s AI-driven ecosystem.
The combined platform now serves 23,000 users and manages over 8,500 equipment listings valued at over $30 million, according to the release. 2Quip’s proprietary platform, 2quip.ai, uses its large language model “Alex” to offer features such as instant listing generation, real-time support, competitive pricing analysis, and upcoming AI-powered maintenance tools, and with these capabilities aim to reduce operating costs by 15% and drive an additional 2% to 5% in renter demand.
The acquisition aligns with 2Quip’s 2025 growth strategy to scale to 35,000 users and expand internationally, according to the release. Through new partnerships and increased marketplace capabilities, the company is advancing its mission of creating a smarter, more accessible, and profitable rental experience.
2Quip also announced a $2 million seed funding round to accelerate user growth to 100,000 and support continued development of its AI technology, according to the release. Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Kansas City, The company serves users in 48 states and continues to expand its footprint across the equipment rental sector.
