Uber Freight has launched the logistics industry’s first large-scale AI logistics network.

The new system is powered by a proprietary logistics-specific large language model (LLM) and fully integrated into Uber Freight’s transportation management system (TMS) and logistics platform, according to a May 21 Uber Freight press release. With the system, the company is aiming to transform supply chain management through real-time intelligence and automation.

The AI network includes more than 30 agents that automate processes across the shipment lifecycle, from procurement and tracking to payments and analytics, according to the release. These tools allow teams to focus on strategic priorities like cost control, disruption response, and network optimization.

By the end of 2025, Uber Freight plans to enhance its TMS by fully integrating its Insights AI and agent ecosystem, changing the platform from a system of record to a real-time command center, according to the release. Insights AI provides ongoing recommendations, helping reduce costs and improve service across operations.

Over the past year, more than $1.6 billion in freight has moved through Uber Freight’s AI-powered infrastructure, according to the release. The system, trained on data from nearly $20 billion in freight under management—including 30% of the Fortune 500—provides users with insights grounded in practical operations.

Colgate-Palmolive, one of Uber Freight’s early partners, reported significant improvements in logistics intelligence and decision-making through its use of Insights AI, according to the release. By embedding AI into daily operations, the company has optimized costs, responded more effectively to disruptions, and improved overall efficiency across its global supply chain.
