Investors Green Hills Partners and River City Enterprises have launched Green Hills Equipment, a compact construction and agricultural equipment platform for equipment dealership owners looking to sell part or all of their businesses.
The platform’s launch coincides with majority investments in Burke Equipment in Delaware and Beverage Tractor & Equipment in Virginia, Tee Valentine, co-manager and co-founder of River City Enterprises, told Equipment Finance News.
Both dealerships plan to keep their existing leadership, employees and local branding while gaining significant capital and operational support, according to a Sept. 15 Green Hills Partners release.
“The closing of the Burke acquisition resulted in the beginning of Green Hills Equipment, which is now a seven-location Kubota dealer in Virginia and Delaware, with plans to continue expanding from there,” Valentine said.
Under the Green Hills Equipment umbrella, Burke and Beverage Tractor gain long-term backing from family investors committed to legacy, employee empowerment and customer service, according to the release.
The platform positions itself as a growth engine in the compact equipment market, targeting expansion and partnerships with other family-owned dealerships in the compact construction and agriculture space, while reinforcing its role as the local dealer of choice in the communities it serves, Dave Hanson, managing partner at Green Hills Partners, said in the release.
Green Hills Equipment’s approach to mergers and acquisitions aligns with Kubota’s 2024 policy change, limiting the number of dealership locations a group or individual can own at both the state and national levels, which was announced in May 2024. Kubota designed the policy to preserve customer experience and intra-brand competition.
