Topcon Positioning Systems announced that RPC has made a strategic investment in Topcon Solutions Stores, the company’s U.S. retail and service network, to accelerate the adoption of digital construction technologies across the United States.

No financial details were given on the investment, which took effect Feb. 1.

The transaction is intended to strengthen Topcon Solutions Stores’ ability to support contractors as they modernize job sites through advanced positioning technology, automation tools and digital workflows, according to today’s Topcon release. The move comes as long-term trends such as housing shortages, infrastructure investment and aging assets continue to drive demand in the U.S. construction market, which has historically lagged in digital adoption.

Topcon Solutions Stores operates 14 retail locations and serves 22 states and is a factory-direct distributor of Topcon technology, according to the release. The network provides equipment sales, training, technical support and consulting services, and integrates Topcon hardware with construction software as an Autodesk Platinum Partner.

RPC views the investment as an opportunity to support technology-enabled solutions that help contractors deliver projects more efficiently.

RPC, through its subsidiaries including Ring Power, sells, rents and services heavy equipment and related products across multiple markets, according to the release.

Topcon Positioning Systems is headquartered in Livermore, Calif., with global operations supporting construction, geomatics and agriculture industries.
