FAYAT Group is expanding its United States operations with an acquisition and a new distribution center.
FAYAT Group has signed an agreement with ST Engineering to acquire its subsidiary LeeBoy, a U.S. designer and manufacturer of road construction equipment, including pavers, compact motor graders and road maintenance machinery, according to a June 24 FAYAT release. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter.
With operations in 170 countries and a workforce of more than 23,000 employees, France-based FAYAT supports global construction markets across seven core business lines, including road equipment, according to the release. The company reported 5.7 billion euros ($6.7 billion) in revenue in 2024.
The FAYAT Group also announced that it has broken ground on a 100,000-square-foot parts distribution center in Fairfield County, S.C., marking a $13.7 million investment to expand its Road Equipment Division operations in North America, according to a release today. The facility will support aftersales service, increase localized machinery production and enhance training capabilities across FAYAT brands, including BOMAG Americas, Dynapac North America, Charlatte North America, Asphalt Drum Mixers, FAYAT Cleantech, and Mecalac Group.
Located adjacent to BOMAG Americas’ North American headquarters, the distribution center should create 75 jobs in the Columbia, S.C., area and will be operational by the fourth quarter, according to the release.
