Chinese construction and agricultural equipment manufacturer Zoomlion aims to expand its connectivity and further its technology development with the launch of its first corporate satellite.

Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology has launched the first corporate-named satellite in the global engineering machinery sector, according to an Aug. 11 press release. The move marks a milestone in its push toward digitalization, intelligence, sustainability and global reach.

The satellite, part of the Geely Constellation Group 04 launch from coastal Shandong, China, will enhance global service connectivity and integrate big data, IoT, AI and satellite communications to deliver smarter, faster and greener solutions in remote environments, according to the company. Zoomlion represented the 13th-largest global construction equipment OEM and the third-largest Chinese OEM, behind XCMG and Sany, in 2024, with $5.7 billion in construction equipment sales, according to the 2025 Yellow Table published by international construction information firm KHL Group.
