Heavy-equipment manufacturer Caterpillar and digital infrastructure provider Vertiv are joining forces to develop advanced energy-optimization solutions for data centers.
The collaboration will pair Vertiv’s power distribution and cooling systems with Caterpillar’s power-generation products, according to a Vertiv release today. Under the memorandum of understanding, the companies will deliver pre-designed, modular architectures aimed at streamlining deployment and improving energy efficiency for operators experencing rising demand from AI adoption.
Caterpillar and its Solar Turbines subsidiary will supply natural-gas turbines and reciprocating engines for electric power and combined cooling, heating and power applications. Vertiv will integrate its portfolio of power and cooling products into standardized blocks designed to shorten design cycles and simplify installation.
