Fuder led the global purchasing team through a period of major transformation in the transport industry, including the pandemic, widespread supply shortages and rising geopolitical volatility, according to the Volvo release.

She played a key role in advancing Volvo Group’s development. Volvo Group President and CEO Martin Lundstedt issued the following statement as part of the release:

“My thoughts are with Andrea’s loved ones during this difficult time of loss. … She was a true driving force in harnessing purchasing power as a catalyst for positive change. Thanks to her dedication and commitment, our supply network is stronger than ever. Andrea will be deeply missed.”

Jens Holtinger, executive vice president of Group Trucks Operations, will now serve as acting chief purchasing officer, according to the release.

Volvo Group, founded in 1927 and headquartered in Gothenburg, employs more than 100,000 people and operates in nearly 190 markets, according to the release. The company reported SEK527 billion ($54.4 billion) in net sales in 2024.
