Volvo Construction Equipment and Unicontrol have announced a partnership to integrate Unicontrol’s 3D machine control technology into Volvo excavators.
The collaboration between Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) and Unicontrol aims to make advanced technology more open, accessible, and efficient for operators, according to a March 31 release. Unicontrol’s 3D system will be available in select European markets later this year, with plans for a global rollout.
The system integrates seamlessly with Volvo’s Co-Pilot, eliminating the need for additional monitors or hardware, according to the release. When customers order Co-Pilot with Dig Assist, all required hardware and software are pre-installed, requiring only activation of the Unicontrol3D application.
Unicontrol specializes in flexible and cost-efficient 3D machine control solutions, according to the release. Unlike traditional closed systems, Unicontrol3D integrates with various excavators, data formats, and workflows, allowing contractors to optimize mixed fleets without being locked into a single ecosystem.
Volvo CE’s partnership with Unicontrol aligns with its commitment to digital innovation, offering customers greater flexibility, efficiency, and ease of use in machine control technology, according to the release.
