Komatsu America has announced that Rod Schrader will step down as chairman and chief executive on March 31, with full retirement effective June 30.

Rod Bull, currently executive vice president of Komatsu’s North America region, will become CEO of Komatsu America on April 1, according to a March 27 Komatsu release. Bull has been with Komatsu since 2011 and has held key leadership positions, including general manager of the Western U.S. region and vice president of the North America Mining Division.
With nearly 25 years of experience in heavy equipment manufacturing, Bull aims to continue Komatsu’s legacy of innovation and growth, according to the release. Komatsu develops and supplies technologies, equipment and services for construction, mining, industrial and forestry markets.
Rod Schrader, who joined Komatsu in 1987, has served as chairman and CEO of Komatsu America since 2012, according to the release. Under his leadership, the company expanded its mining dump truck business, strengthened its dealer network and introduced Smart Construction and Smart Quarry technologies.
Komatsu Ltd. has also announced leadership transitions, with Takuya Imayoshi taking over as president and CEO. Hiroyuki Ogawa is set to move into the role of director and chairman, succeeding Tetsuji Ohashi, according to the release.
