Terex unloads van, RV brand after REV Group merger

Terex Corp. has completed the sale of its luxury RV and specialty van brand, Midwest Automotive Designs, to Alliance RV.

Elkhart, Ind.-based Midwest Automotive Designs had operated within the recreational vehicles segment of REV Group, according to today’s Terex release. Terex finalized its $9 billion acquisition of REV Group on Feb. 2.

Terex’s transaction aligns with its strategy to focus on core businesses where it sees strong long-term growth and margin potential, according to the release. Established in 2000, Midwest produces luxury RVs and specialty vans on Dodge, Ford and Mercedes-Benz frames, and will operate as a subsidiary of fellow Elkhart-based RV OEM Alliance RV.

Norwalk, Conn.-headquartered Terex manufactures equipment for emergency services, waste and recycling, utilities, and construction. Its products include fire truck, ambulances, waste collection vehicles, materials processing equipment, mobile elevating work platforms and electric utility equipment.

Terex operates manufacturing facilities in the United States and maintains operations across Europe, India and the Asia-Pacific region, according to the release. The company plans to continue prioritizing investment in innovation, digital solutions and aftermarket support through its global dealer and service network.
