Special Counsel Mehul Madia joins Equipment Finance Connect faculty

Mehul Madia, special counsel at Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton’s Washington, office, will discuss best practices for dealers to navigate the “murky regulatory compliance landscape” in a presentation May 7 at 9:15 a.m. during Equipment Finance Connect 2024.  

The conference takes place May 5-7 at the Omni Nashville Hotel in Nashville, Tenn.

Madia’s presentation at Equipment Finance Connect will cover how dealers can protect customer data to stay in compliance with the FTC’s Safeguards rule, how dealers can ensure fair lending to small businesses and practical tips for better compliance workflows.  

Before joining Sheppard Mullin in January, Madia worked in private practice and was also special assistant United States Attorney at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia office as well as a senior legal adviser to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s associate director of supervision, enforcement and fair lending. He is an active member of the South Asian Bar and National Asian Pacific American Bar associations and is a fellow of the Leadership Council for Legal Diversity.
