The Caterpillar Foundation is donating $250,000 to support recovery and rebuilding efforts in Central Texas in response to the July 4 floods that devastated the region.
The funds will be distributed between the United Way of San Antonio Bexar County and the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country to address both immediate needs and long-term recovery in Kerr County and surrounding areas, according to a release today by Irving, Texas-based Caterpillar.
“Our thoughts are with everyone impacted in the Central Texas community,” Asha Varghese, president of the Caterpillar Foundation, stated in the release. “The devastation caused by this disaster is heartbreaking, and we recognize that recovery will take a collective effort.”
Caterpillar will also match employee contributions to eligible charities aiding flood relief.
