Bushel Plus has formed a strategic partnership with John Deere that will make the Bushel Plus SmartPan system available through Deere’s dealer network across the U.S. and Canada.
The agreement links Bushel Plus’s field-measurement technology with John Deere’s Harvest Settings Automation to help farmers reduce grain loss and improve combine performance, according to a Dec. 2 Bushel Plus release. The SmartPan drop-pan system provides the field-verified loss measurements needed to calibrate Deere’s Harvest Settings Automation, which automatically adjusts rotor and fan speed, concave clearance, and cleaning-shoe settings based on operator-defined limits.
By supplying the “ground-truth” data behind those loss thresholds, SmartPan allows operators to fine-tune combine settings and validate automated adjustments against real-world results, according to the release. Farmers can drop the pan at any point in the field, compare SmartPan readings to their G5Plus display, and adjust as needed, while Deere’s automation maintains grain-loss limits across changing crop and field conditions.
Under the new partnership, Deere dealers will sell and support the SmartPan system, giving producers access through the same channel they use for combines, service and integrated technology, according to the release. Bushel Plus and John Deere will expand training, demos and educational events in 2026 to help growers use SmartPan in combination with automation tools across various Deere combine and header configurations.
