Specialty financier Oxford Finance’s asset-based lending strategy closed five transactions totaling $368 million in commitments during its first year.
Oxford said the strategy expands its middle-market financing capabilities. The platform provides revolving credit facilities and other structured working capital solutions for growing businesses, special situations and sponsor-backed transactions.
The transactions ranged from $25 million to $160 million, averaging more than $70 million, and Oxford served as sole lender on all five, according to today’s Oxford Finance release.
The financings supported sponsor-backed and non-sponsored middle-market companies in the transportation, consumer products, equipment and industrial manufacturing sectors, according to the release. Oxford said the working capital and liquidity solutions were designed to support growth, acquisitions and operational objectives.
Nick McDearis, managing director of asset-based lending, said Oxford expects to expand the platform while maintaining its underwriting and client service standards, according to the release.
Oxford, based in Alexandria, Va., provides senior secured loans to public and private companies and has financed more than 750 companies, according to the release. The company said it has originated more than $18 billion in loans since 2002.
