LiuGong North America has launched its battery-electric construction and material handling equipment portfolio in the United States and Canada, expanding access to electric heavy equipment already used in global commercial applications.
The initial North American lineup includes the 856HE battery-electric wheel loader, 820TE battery-electric loader, 924FE battery-electric excavator and LRSE4531E fully electric 45-ton reach stacker, according to today’s LiuGong release. LiuGong also offers electric forklifts and warehouse equipment, with additional battery-electric machines expected in 2027.
More than 60,000 LiuGong battery-electric machines are operating worldwide, according to the release. One electric wheel loader has surpassed 20,000 operating hours in production service.
LiuGong’s battery-electric equipment can lower operating costs by 40% to 50% compared with similar diesel-powered machines through reduced energy use, fewer service requirements and simplified maintenance. The manufacturer adapted the equipment for North American charging standards, electrical infrastructure, software requirements, safety certifications and dealer service practices.
The acquisition cost, projected operating savings and warranty coverage provide fleet owners and financing providers with factors to consider when evaluating total cost of ownership and asset risk, according to the release. LiuGong’s battery-electric machines are priced below competing electric models.
Battery packs and electric motors on LiuGong’s electric construction equipment carry warranty coverage of five years or 10,000 operating hours, according to the release. The launch begins a regional rollout as LiuGong expands its North American electric equipment lineup.
