Heave, an on-demand heavy equipment repair platform, has raised $7 million in a series A funding round led by Outsiders Fund, bringing its total funding to $13 million.

The capital will support market expansion, customer acquisition and team growth as the company scales its network of mobile mechanics, according to an Aug. 27 Heave release. Heave connects construction firms with certified mechanics who can repair multiple brands in under 24 hours, reducing downtime.

Already dominant in Florida and Texas, the company is expanding into Atlanta; Charlotte, S.C.; and Nashville, Tenn. More than 600 machines are serviced each month by over 300mechanics.

Founded by former dealership executive Alex Kraft, Heave offers contractors faster, more affordable service while giving technicians flexible work and the potential to boost earnings up to sixfold.

The company’s growth reflects rising demand for efficient repair solutions in construction, where equipment downtime can cost $1,000 an hour, according to the release. Outsiders Fund stated Heave is positioned to become a category-defining leader in construction technology.
